Food, cooking, health and nutrition have always been a passion in my life. I decided to become a vegetarian when I was nine years old and became a vegan in 2004 after discovering that I was a vegetarian with high cholesterol (thanks mom and dad!). Through a vegan diet and exercise I was able to naturally lower my cholesterol to a healthy level.

     One of the problems with my healthy/vegan diet was that it didn’t make it easy for my insatiable sweet tooth. I began experimenting with baking in my tiny apartment kitchen to combine my passion for healthy living and for treats! It turned out that I had a real knack for it! I developed my first signature recipe, The Hungry Vegan Fudgy Brownie, and began selling them to the local stores in my community. It was then that I realized I wanted to leave my job in publishing and become a healthy baker.

     I became the head baker at a health food store in Morristown, NJ in 2005 and have spent the last few years perfecting the art of healthy baking. Along the way, I have learned the importance of using organic and local ingredients for the environment and our health. It has became my mission to change the stigma of healthy baked goods as something that are tasteless and dry to something decadent and irresistible.

     Ester’s Treats are created with the health of the consumer and the planet in mind and most importantly, with love.
